THE WEDDING PLANNER
| Six Months To A Year Before: |
- Choose the date, place and time
|
- Arrange to meet the Minister/Priest or Registrar to confirm the date
|
- Discuss the Wedding budget, the type of Wedding, number of guests and type of reception
|
- Plan the reception and book the Ramada Hotel, Belfast.
|
- Inform guests to reserve bedroom accommodation if required
|
- Order the Wedding Cake or organise to make your own
|
|
|
- Order the Wedding Cars or make arrangements to borrow cars from friends or family
|
- Choose and book a florist
|
- Start to look at styles for your Wedding Dress, or consult and book a dressmaker if you are having one made
|
- Decide the colour scheme of the Wedding: Wedding Clothes, Flowers, Stationary and Linen
|
- Choose and order the dresses, fabrics and accessories for the attendants
|
- Decide on your Wedding Music – firstly together then with the Minister/Priest and make an appointment to see the organist
|
- Think about where you want to go for your Honeymoon and make reservations
|
- Choose and order the Wedding Invitations
|
| Three To Six Months To Go: |
- Arrange a meeting with Minister/Priest to discuss the order of service
|
- Order all other stationary requirements at the same time, for example: place cards, cake boxes, evening invitations, thank you notes and table napkins
|
|
|
- Discuss with Minister/Priest if extra parking facilities at the Church are required. Inform the Police if necessary
|
- Select Wedding Ring or Rings if you are both going to wear them
|
- Start distributing your Wedding List
|
- Organise a new passport in your married name
|
- Buy shoes and accessories for your Wedding Dress
|
- Choose your ‘going-away’ outfit
|
| Two To Three Months To Go: |
- Finalise your guest list and send out the invitations. As you receive replies tick off acceptance and refusals on your copy of the guest list
|
- Write Thank You letters when you receive Wedding presents. It may be too time consuming to leave it until after the Wedding
|
- Supply the florist with details of the colour scheme and choose the type of flowers
|
- Select the presents for the Bridesmaids, other attendants and the Best Man
|
- Make arrangements for the attendants for the day of the Wedding, where they will dress, have breakfast, hair appointments etc.
|
- Check that all certificates are in order for the ceremony
|
| One Month to Go: |
- The final fittings for the bride and her attendants
|
- Check that Groom and his attendants have organised their clothes; Groom and Best man have organised the rings, honeymoon tickets and passports
|
- Plan seating details for the reception at the Ramada Hotel.
|
- Consult your hairdresser with your veil or head-dress and discuss ideas and styles for the day
|
- See the Minister/Priest to agree a date for the Wedding rehearsal. Notify all the people
concerned
|
| Two Weeks Before: |
- Confirm numbers with Ramada Hotel, Belfast
|
- Make a final check of the following:
|
|
|
- Ramada Hotels Menu and Timing
|
|
|
|
|
- Singer and/or music for the Church
|
|
|
|
|
- Try on your Wedding Dress with all the accessories
|
- Organise your Honeymoon clothes and get ready to pack
|
- Check that there is a room available for changing at the reception
|
- Write out the place cards
|
| One Week To Go: |
- Give the final numbers to the Ramada Hotel – giving details of any special requirements
|
- Gift wrap presents for the attendants
|
- Organise fees for Minister/Priest, Singers and Organist
|
- Have the Wedding rehearsal
|
- Pack the Honeymoon cases and check tickets
|
- Remind Best Man to return male attendants clothing to the dress hire shop after the Wedding
|
- Appoint someone to take home the Wedding Dress and accessories after the Wedding
|
| The Day Before: |
|
|
- Collect the male attendants clothing from the dress hire shop
|
- Make sure everyone tries on their garments as mistakes sometimes can happen
|
- Deliver cake, place settings and flowers to the Ramada Hotel
|
| On The Day: |
- Make sure the order of service is delivered to the church and the floral arrangements are in place
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
- Pack a small make-up bag that can be taken to the church for last minute touches
|
- Make sure you have made arrangements for your luggage to be delivered to the Ramada Hotel
|
- Leave plenty of time to get dressed and arrange the veil and head-dress
|
- Take a deep breath, smile and enjoy your Wedding Day.
